Spot Atlas
Punta Roca
"A tropical Rincon", "one of the top rights in the world" and "WHOOOOO!" are some of
the ways I've heard this wave described. It is a bowly right point break that has lots of
hollow goodness. There is no doing the Huntington Hop on this wave, as you don't
need to wait for the wave to catch up to you. On the best days, it connects through to
the point/rock reef combo break on the inside, known as La Paz. This break is a
ten-minute walk away from our headquarters.
La Paz
La Paz is a rocky reef/beachbreak located between the pier and Restaurant Row. Has
fun playful surf towards the inside with gnarly set waves, lots of close-outs towards the
outside. This place has a great atmosphere: while you are surfing you can sometimes
hear the mariachis. This spot is right in front of our headquarters.
Secret Spots: Point/Reef and Beach/Manmade Reef
We'd like to tell you more, but then again, we'd like even more to keep them a
secret! Please note: You will be signing a Notice of Non-Disclosure before being
driven here. These two spots are about a half hour from our headquarters.
Conchalio
A two-headed beast: Sometimes lined up and very rippable (as seen above) and at other
times scary, dumping and barrelling! This spot is a five minute drive from the compound and is
a FUN wave with both lefts and rights.
The best left in the country, La Bocana breaks over a sharp rocky reef and unfolds as an
amazing bowly left. The takeoff is super fast and the wave is great for full-rail surfing. Does it
get hollow? Put it this way: I had the best barrel of my life there. This wave is located about
twenty minutes away by car from the compound and is located a lengthy stroll from Sunzal.
La Bocana
Sunzal
Sunzal is probably the most popular surf spot in El Salvador. It consists of a long and slow,
somewhat hollow right and a very short somewhat hollow left. It is comparable to Swami's,
except it's 20 degrees warmer and never as crowded. It has a looong paddle out, but then
again, it's a looong wave!
The first peak starts breaking at about seven feet and, obviously, is the longest, funnest, and
biggest. The drop can be pretty frightening when it's big, but is not so fast that it will leave
you behind. This is a great wave if it's too big to surf anywhere else or if you're in the mood
for long, mellower waves.
El Zonte
El Zonte is located about thirty-five minutes away from our headquarters. It has both a right
and a left, but the left is fickle. The right is a nice ride with a great drop. It's a shorter, less
hollow version of Punta Roca, but it's still intense.

These aren't the only spots you will be surfing with us! Every morning, we will analyze
the conditions through the internet and our surf buddies at other spots (who live near
other waves) to determine where the best waves will be.
