Frequently Asked Questions
How safe is El Salvador?
El Salvador is relatively safe as long as you follow some precautions, as with
anywhere in Latin America. We have never had a problem with crime affecting our
guests.
What is the best surf season?
March through November is when the waves are the biggest (typical height is 5-8',
though double overhead is not uncommon). Between December and February, the
waves are smaller (typical height 2-5', though overhead is not uncommon) but the
conditions are better, with offshore winds grooming the waves, sometimes all day.
What is included in the price?
One professional surf guide per group of three surfers, a car, surf racks, expert local
knowledge, you get to choose your own hotel and where you eat (we can make
recommendations as we know them all, but these are NOT included in the price).
If you prefer not to bring your board down to avoid dings and hefty airline fees, we
should be able to accommodate you as we have a wide selection of boards you
can use.
We don't cover gasoline, you can pay for that yourself at the gas station. The only
thing we gouge are nice fat sections of wave (unless we are with paying customers,
that is)!
How is it that you guys are so much cheaper than the "Big
Corporate Guys"?
We are locally owned and operated. We use our local knowledge and cut out the
middlemen to keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you, leaving you with
more money for your next trip! We charge El Salvador prices, not US prices,
because we are based out of El Salvador.
Do you offer group discounts?
We sure do! Group your party into a number divisible by three and you pay less than
$14 per person per day!
What are some of the spots we will be able to surf?
Punta Roca, Playa La Paz, El Zonte, Sunzal, La Bocana, Conchalio, Secret Beach
Break (with man-made reef for big days), Secret Reef/Point Break and several
others!
How far in advance do we have to book a trip?
We can accommodate you with as little as three days' notice depending on
availability.
What kind of food will my friends and I be eating?
We serve a typical Salvadoran food staples. This includes meals with different
recipes and combinations of rice, beans, corn tortillas, plantains, pupusas. Carlos
is the manager of the restaurant our family owns and he can whip up just about
anything you like. We also have excellent, very fresh seafood.
Who are you guys?
We are three brothers who live, work and surf in La Libertad, El Salvador. We have
all been surfing since the mid 1990's. Our friend in the US designed this site as a
favor to us for taking him surfing.
How long have you guys in business?
We have been taking our foreign friends surfing since 1997. We opened up our
doors to others starting in summer of 2008.
I have a question that hasn't been addressed above, how do
I contact you?
Call our main man Eddie P: 760.563.2580 He is based in Cali and grew up in El
Salvador. He designed the site for us so we could have a side business (currently
just a restaurant).
